FINNISH JOURNAL OF LINGUISTICS

The Finnish Journal of Linguistics is published by the Linguistics Association of Finland. It is a refereed journal published once per year. Both articles as well as shorter essays, so-called squibs, are welcome, as are book reviews. Articles may address any area of linguistics. Articles are read by two anonymous reviewers, after which the editorial board decides on publication.

Articles may be written in English, French, German, Finnish or Swedish. Articles are accepted all year round, but if you want to be included in the current year’s issue, articles must be submitted to the editors no later than 31 January.

Finnish Journal of Linguistics has been granted the label for a peer-reviewed scholarly publication. FJL is committed to complying with the terms and conditions set for using the label.

Publications are freely available online in electronic format.

Until 2021, the journal was published with the name SKY Journal of Linguistics, and until1998 by the name SKY – Suomen kielitieteellisen yhdistyksen vuosikirja (Finnish Association of Linguistics annual publication). Starting from Volume 33 (2020), the journal has only been published electronically. All volumes may be found on the website for the Finnish Journal of Linguistics.

AVAILABILITY OF OLD PUBLICATIONS IN DIGITAL FORMAT

The Finnish Linguistic Society has digitized its old publications for open access. This includes volumes 1988–2003 (Vol. 1–16). The links below provide access to those articles for which permission has been granted for publication. The publications are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).
